WENDY SADLER has a passion for science and a strong desire to embed science within popular culture to encourage wider participation. She has been involved in science communication for fifteen years and is the founding Director of one of the UK’s leading science communication and outreach companies (science made simple) which has reached nearly 250,000 people since it was established in 2002. She works extensively with universities, organisations, and scientists as a role model, mentor and trainer - encouraging more direct participation between scientists and the public at various levels both in the UK and overseas.
Her company, 'science made simple', is having a national impact by reaching around 75,000 people across the UK each year with their mission to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. The company has grown consistently each year as a result of Wendy’s drive and determination, and continues to innovate and experiment with new methods of science engagement. The business is a successful model of sustainable science engagement that helps to professionalise the role of science communicators within the science and society field. They develop and deliver engaging performances for schools and general public audiences and they have a particular specialism in reaching teenage audiences and with physics and engineering topics.
