DR. RICHARD WATERMEYER is a Research Fellow at Cardiff University, based within the ESRC Centre for the Economic and Social Aspects of Genomics (Cesagen) and funded by the RCUK Beacons for Public Engagement. His work is at the intersection of public engagement in science and
technology, science communication and the public understanding of science. His background is as a sociologist of education with key interests in learner subjectivity, non-traditional pedagogies, experiential learning and subaltern youth cultures. His current research interests lie within innovative communication methodologies that foster dialogical interplay between specialist and non-specialist communities.
