From the 20th June to the 1st July 2012, Julia Thomas showcased some of her artwork at the exhibition Aletheia: In Unconcealment at the Queen’s Arcade, Cardiff. Close to 200 people attended her exhibition, which included several events during the 2 weeks it was open.
As a group who have been collaborating with Julia over the past 2 years, she was keen to involve the MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics and the National Centre for Mental Health in some of the events that she was putting on during the fortnight.
On Monday 25th June, Julia laid on a discussion session on Stigma, Mental Health and Genomics. Staff, volunteers and service users from Mind Cymru gathered in the exhibition space to discuss psychiatric genetics and stigma facilitated by Julia and captured graphically by Laura Sorvala from Auralab.
